Hypnotherapy

What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis has been known in some shape or form in every culture throughout history and It is generally accepted as an altered state of consciousness….hypnosis is not SLEEP!!

Hypnosis as been described as a state of mind enhanced by physical and mental relaxation , in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind

What is Hypnotherapy?

Clinical Hypnotherapy is where a Qualified and Experienced Practitioner gives treatment for emotional and psychological disorders, unwanted habits, and undesirable feelings,

Using techniques designed for the client to deal more effectively with their presenting problem/s In actual fact most hypnotherapists will combine hypnotic procedures with other appropriate counselling and therapeutic techniques to ensure that the client receives The optimum level of care and treatment , during the sessions.

Who can be Hypnotised ?

The answer is virtually everyone…..some people are more readily receptive to the experience of entering into the hypnotic state than others….Most researchers agree that the actual level (or depth) of trance does not relate to the beneficial results that might be obtained in treatment.

In Practice this means that when a person feels
That they have not been hypnotised, given time (and this is a very important factor) the desired outcome of therapy might yet materialise.

Hypnotherapy can be extraordinarily effective but it is not “Magic” Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state
In which we “flit in and out of” several times during during the day!

Imagine, sitting at the traffic light when it is at red, it suddenly changes to green and momentarily we are Transfixed, only to be reminded by the car behind pomping his horn. Or the mother reading her child a bed-time story……pure hypnosis!

Who can benefit from Hypnotherapy ?

Again, the answer to the question is virtually everyone. The person who is entering into hypnosis with the “Guidance” and personal integrity of the therapist can access their potential in a real and more meaningful way by allowing their subconscious mind to look at other more positive ways and to examine alternatives to old ways of unhelpful thinking , which in the past has kept the individual from being able to live their life to the full. Hypnotherapy and the journey into self-exploration can be challenging for the person, but the journey into potential self-discovery can bring its own rewards.

Some of the problems that can be helped by Clinical Hypnotherapy Includes: addictions, disrupted sleep patterns, lack of confidence, low self-esteem, allergies and skin disorders, migraine, irritable bowel syndrome( IBS).

This list is by no means exhaustive and there many more areas where Hypnotherapy is of great help.

Some common concerns about hypnosis

People are some times concerned that they “lose control” in hypnosis. However, general consensus indicates that regardless of how deeply people may go in Hypnosis,

They actually remain in full control of the situation.
A person is able to talk , walk or leave the room if they wish to, at any time. Equally a person who is in hypnosis would not do anything against their ethical , moral judgment or religious belief.
