Counselling and psychotherapy involves the person (client) meeting with the counsellor in a safe, quiet environment where the client can feel confident in talking through his/her problems and difficulties, which is always treated in a professional and non-judgemental manner by the counsellor. The client can always be assured that what is said is completely confidential.

As individuals we need to understand our thoughts, feelings, hopes and desires for ourselves and to this end counselling has been proven as a valuable form of therapy in assisting the client in gaining a greater sense of self-acceptance and self-awareness.
During the counselling process the client is encouraged to talk about his/her problems and in working with the counsellor, looking at all the options to find solutions to the problems or difficulties that the person is experiencing.
People find it helpful to talk in the counselling environment where the person can unburden themselves thus enabling them to deal more effectively with their problems, whilst being given support and positive feedback by the counsellor. Counselling does not involve giving advice, but it does promote the client looking at all the choices that are available to him/her.

People who come for counselling are sometimes not fully aware of their own human resources and their inner strengths, and their capacity for creating change in themselves. During counselling this is one of the areas where the counsellor can assist the client to use these resources to understand better how he/she can improve the quality of their life.
In our daily lives we sometimes encounter problems which are difficult to cope with. When these problems become too much for us to cope with and they effect our quality of life, we need to seek help from a Qualified Professional.
For over 30 years I have worked with people who have experienced problems in their daily lives, and through using Counselling, Psychotherapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy and NLP I have always worked towards assisting people to find solutions to their difficulties, using the most appropriate treatments and philosophy to meet the individual needs of the client.
Some of these problems include:
Depression |
Work related issues |
Stress and Anxiety |
Career / Personal Development issues |
Alcohol and Drugs Problems |
Loss / Bereavement / Grief |
Relationship Difficulties |
Self-Esteem |
Using the various treatment philosophies which I have worked with and improved upon over many years I always try to use the appropriate treatment to meet the needs of the individual client.
